United Way Glenelg together with our partners AWA Alliance Bank and Powerhouse Productions is proud to present SharkPitch, a spectacular live crowdfunding event where we will connect people who want to make a change with people who are doing it!
This spectacular event will support three local community organisations that will pitch their idea to a live audience for both financial and in-kind support of their program. Our emcee, Neil O’Donnell will engage with the audience to pledge funds, to raise over $10,000 per organisation. Thanks to our partnership with AWA Alliance Bank for this event your donation will be matched so you can have twice the impact.
The sayNO2familyviolence committee from Portland in the Glenelg shire of Victoria, are breaking new ground with their schools collaborative, trying to raise funds for much needed presentations on a preventative family violence initiative.

SayNo2FamilyViolenceGlenelg recognises that one of the by-products of two years of COVID-imposed lockdowns is the significant increase in the number of social media incidents involving cyberbullying and sexting. “Collective Shout”, a nationally recognised education program will be invited to deliver workshops to secondary students, teachers, and parents as an important step to help our community reduce sexploitation and family violence.
Portland Little Athletics Club
Athletics encourages children to become active, develop fundamental motor skills, and keep on improving. Protection from falls, slips and injuries can be achieved by installing a specialised rubber top on run-ups for long-jump & triple-jump runways. Perhaps we can be home to the next Commonwealth Games champion.
Parenting can be a challenge, but it shouldn’t be hard! Through participation in a series of community workshops, we at Funky Hearts hope to equip families with loving, yet powerful tools for parenting children of all ages. Parents will be better placed to raise confident and motivated children who are ready for the real world and be their absolute best!
