Visiting Rotarians – President Peter Brown from the Rotary Club of Caboolture, QLD.

Announcements:
There are still 4 members that have not presented their digital covid certificate to be recorded. So those 4 will still have to show that when they come to the next meeting.
A reminder if you are listed with a duty – do it or arrange for someone else to. Just not turning up does not pass the four way test.
PP Ian – thanked the members that mowed Dicks lawns, and the members that mowed our section of the GSWW.
PP John – invited us (family & friends) to the Portland Bowls Club next week for a 2 course meal ($20), presented by the bowls club members ably assisted by Rotarian Lynne. Drinks at bar prices.
There will be expert bowlers available from 5pm to support Rotarians in their endeavour to get the ball down the green to the other end.
Important numbers to apology phone by 12 noon this Friday
PP Tony South – called for members to cook & serve a theTradies Breakfast outside the Civic Hall Friday 10thmorning @ 6.30am. If not actively involved in cooking the breakfast, then the SayNo2 familiyviolence committee wouldappreciate help with Rotarians encouraging tradies to put our sticker on their work ute, and spread the message that family violence is not on.
The aim of the breakfast is to thank the tradies for their continued work through the pandemic, to ask the question R U OK?,
And for rotary to get our sticker on the work ute with a photo we can promote on our facebook page.
Peter Taylor made his début as sergeant – he has learnt from the masters and managed to extract a tidy sum of money from members
Guest Speaker :President Peter Brown.
Peter and his assistant (Gere – son of a Rotarian) are in Portland conducting an audit out at Alcoa.
Peter demonstrated that he is very rotary focused, he is also the AG for his clubs cluster, he has plans to move on to district level.
His R100 project is a mobile billboard to highlight Rotary, hoping to increase membership in rotary. In conjunction with the Variety Bash Qld, his club purchased a 1990 Holden Commodore Wagon and with sponsor ship got it fitted out ready for the Bash. To promote rotary it is yellow with blue trim. He invites all and any rotary club to advertise on the car with varying levels of sponsorship with their club logo.
Instead of leaving the car packed away between bash’s Peter decided to take to the roads, he has taken some long service leave packed the car with rotary information packs and set off around Australia, visiting as many rotary clubs as possible. He has already covered most of Queensland and NSW, and as much of Sth Australia as border restrictions would allow. So dodging restrictions his final fling will be Queensland, Nth Territory, W Australia, Sth Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, NSW.
So we are likely to see Peter again sometime next year and hear of some of his adventure.
